Trouble-shooting
If you are experiencing any issues, please visit your graphics
card's manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for
your particular operating system:
http://www.ati.com
http://www.nvidia.com
Additionally, try turning off hardware acceleration for your
graphics card to see if that solves your problem.
Windows XP:
Start | Settings | Control Panel and click on the Display icon.
From there, go to Settings | Advanced | Troubleshoot. Where it says
Hardware acceleration, move the slider all the way down to None.

Mouse Wheel Configuration
To use the middle mouse button for zooming and auto-panning, configure the
mouse wheel to Middle Button. This can be found in the Windows control panel
under the Mouse settings. See here for details.
Multiple Monitors
Unwrap 3D utilizes OpenGL for 3D rendering, so it is important your graphics card
fully supports it when using multiple monitors.
When using multiple monitors and NVidia graphics cards, it is recommended that hardware acceleration
is set to Compatibility performance mode. This can be found in the NVidia control panel
under 3D Settings | Manage 3D Settings. Note that if any NVidia settings are changed, Unwrap 3D should be restarted.
Vista and Windows 7
Here are a couple of suggestions if you encounter any issues
running Ultimate Unwrap 3D under Vista or Windows 7:
- Turn off DEP for the Unwrap 3D program.
In Windows XP, you can find DEP in Start | Settings | Control Panel |
System | Advanced | Performance | Settings | Data Execution Prevention.
In Windows 7, see Control Panel | System and Security | System | Advanced system settings |
Performance | Settings... | Data Execution Prevention (tab).
Your computer must be restarted.
Details here.
- Turn off Aero by selecting a basic desktop scheme such as Windows Vista Basic
or Windows Classic. This fixes refresh issues related to Aero composition.
- Right-click on the Unwrap 3D executable file and choose Properties.
Under the Compatibility tab, select Run this program in compatibility mode for
Windows XP (Service Pack 3). Details here.
Old or missing mfc42.dll
If you are unable to run the installer, you may need an updated version
of mfc42.dll. You can find version 6.0.8665.0 in the Microsoft Vcredist.exe redistributable
runtime package:
